Friendship

Once upon a time a rich family lived in a village. There was a child in this family. His name was John. Alice was the best friend of John. Her father was the gardener of John’s house. Alice was poor but she had good qualities. Because of that reason Alice and John had a very strong friendship. No one could break it. 

But one day a group of visitors came to John’s home. They were also rich people. Therefore John’s father warmly welcomed them. Among them there was a little girl named, Christine. She was dressed in a beautiful frock. John saw that she was even more beautiful than Alice. 

Day by day John became closer to the Christine than Alice, because she allowed John to play with the beautiful toys she had. But she did not give them to Alice. 

“John, if you want to play with my toys, please be angry with Alice.” One day Christine said to John. 

John was angry with Alice because of his desire about toys. Alice cried very sadly and ran towards the kitchen. 

“We must kidnap this boy at today night…” 

When Alice heard that, she stopped crying and looked out of the open window. Alice saw Christine’s father and his servant discussing about the kidnaping of John through that open window. 

“I can tell Christine to come near the gate with John...” Christine’s father said.  

Alice understood what was happening. 

“John is angry with me. But still he is my best friend. So I have to protect him.” Alice thought. Then she quickly went to find her father and told him everything she had seen. She was never a liar. Because of that Alice’s father understood all the thing that Alice said was true. 

“Even if I say this matter to my owner, he will not believe me.” Alice’s father thought. After he left from the home with Alice. But there was a smart plan in his mind. 

On that night Christine came near the gate with John. They did not have to stay there long period, because a car was stopped there. Christine’s father came out of the car. 

“Christine, let’s go to eat ice-cream. John, you can also join with us.” Christine’s father said. 

As soon as he said that, the police officers who were in hiding came out and Christine’s father and his servant who was the driver of that car caught. Christine tried to run away, but Alice who was in hiding grabbed Christine and brought her near the gate with the help of Alice’s father. 

John’s father who was inside the house also came near the gate because of the loud noise heard from outside. John was frightened and ran to his father. 

The police officer looked at the captives and removed the fake beard that Christine’s father was wearing. 

“He is a very famous thief we were looking for. He could not be caught. But because of the Alice, you could not escape from us today….” Police officer said. 

After that Alice’s father said all the thing that he know about this incident. John’s father appreciated and promised Alice’s father who was thinking about foresight, to build a new house for his family. Alice who bravely came forward to save her best friend also received many more beautiful dresses and toys from different people. The newspapers also published about the Alice’s adventure. After this situation, she received the most valuable gift. John apologized for his mistakes and befriended with her again. It was the most important moment of Alice’s life. Then Alice and john have been best friends ever.
